Chieri played an important role in the education of the young John Bosco, ten years of study, work and experiences, which formed this extraordinary person. The creation of a city itinerary and a visitors’ centre (in what was formerly the premises of the St. Philip Seminary) dedicated to this figure aim to be a contribution to his memory, but also, and especially, a way of continuing to pass on his most important teaching: attention to the needs of others.
The itinerary winds through the streets of the old town centre of Chieri and the information posts along the way tell of the episodes and people who played an important role in the life of the Saint. This is one way to create greater awareness of this figure, who was fundamental to Piedmont in the 1800s, but also to understand better that period of history and the context he lived in.
